On a beautiful and sunny August day, there isn’t a much better setting for tying the knot than under our rare british blue skies. Izzy + Nick had decided to get married at Weston Park Bandstand in Sheffield and as per usual the fantastic Joe Stenson asked me along to assist him with the ever enjoyable task of photographing it.
From the word go, Nick and his best men were laid back and happy to go with the flow – something that continued as a theme for the day. The groom spent the morning getting ready at Thundercliffe Grange – his childhood home which is a beautful Georgian manor house set down a quiet lane on the outskirts of Rotherham.
It was only a short drive over to Weston Park, stopping quickly for pre-wedding coffee and then it was all hands on deck to get the park ready for the guests to arrive. Setting up Weston Park Bandstand with a few seats and plenty of standing room, it was an intimate and relaxed affair with the majority of the guests stood in the wonderful August sun – soaking up some rare sunshine and making the most of Yorkshires short but always wonderful Summer.
After the ceremony and a having had a couple of hours spent relaxing in Weston Park, we made our way to the quite spectacular Thundercliffe Grange for the reception. The residents (including Nick’s Parents!) kindly allowed Izzy and Nick to use the house and grounds for their wedding – it was a magnificent and unique location and was a privilege to photograph it on such a momentous day.
Hope you enjoyed looking at this set as much as I enjoyed taking them!
