My first wedding of 2015 – assisting the ever fantastic Joe Stenson on this early January chilly wedding.
I met up with Rowan and his entourage/groomsmen at his house in Armley – with life long friends and family from his home in South Africa, getting ready was a rowdy affair. A lot of laughs, a smatter of last minute speech writing and emergency umbrellas deployed and we made our way to Trinity Church in Leeds.
Trinity Church was a wonderful host to the wedding, with some beautiful readings and light hearted entertainment from the groomsmen in the form of a quiz to keep everyone busy while the register was being signed.
We made our way through town for some portraits and then straight up to Left Bank, a deconsecrated church which is now used as a beautiful venue and played a wonderful part in Anna + Rowan’s wedding.
A warm reception, great food and LOTS of dancing followed – Aluinn Ceilidh Band played the night away, seemingly bringing out some irish roots in the South African guests!
All in, a wonderful start to the year for myself and everyone else involved.
